At RibSational In Zebulon NC, Barbecue feels like a ministry.

Every now and then, you come across a place where something deeper is at work than what’s on the plate.

One of those such places is RibSational in Zebulon.

Here, barbecue feels like a ministry.

Pastor James and wife Goldie Parker, along with the folks working alongside them, aren’t just cooking food. They’re serving people. Yes, a portion of what they make goes back to the church, but that’s only part of the story.

Their real ministry starts at the window.

It’s in the way they feed folks, honest, generous, and without cutting corners. Plates that don’t feel measured, they feel given. The kind you instinctively grab with both hands because you already see the plate buckling as they hand it out the window.

We’re talking smoked chicken done right. Tender ribs that don’t need explaining. Barbecue that tastes like the your uncles made it at the Family Reunion. Sides that carry just as much weight as the meat. Everything is seasoned like somebody been to seasoning school and left with a degree.

That Ribs & Chicken Plate?

You get THREE chicken quarters.

Thats 3/4 a chicken.

Half a rack of ribs.

Two sides.

Bread.

$24.

They can barely close the clam shell plate.

That’s not a deal, that’s somebody looking out for you.

That’s good groceries.

And maybe the part that makes it hit a little different…

Then theres the history.

This isn’t just any old property. This spot once housed Roland Gordon’s Barbecue back in the 60’s, and you can still feel that legacy in the smoke. It’s like something that mattered back then found its way back again.

Barbecue never really left here.

It just needed the right people to bring it back.

If you’re hungry, you’ll leave full.

But more than that. you’ll leave reminded that in North Carolina, barbecue has always been about more than just food.
